You’ve been contemplating to get that new, shiny car for a while now and decided to get one. Now you have to deal with the car dealership but you also need to cover other papers to own that car legally. One of those is to have auto insurance. Without auto insurance, not only are you unable to drive your car on the street but it also comes with great risk to you. Here are some reasons why it is important to get auto insurance. You Cannot Legally Drive Without Insurance
Most states require each car to have its own auto insurance policy before being released. Every state has its own minimum liability and property damage coverage. Driving an uninsured vehicle is against state laws and you might risk paying fines, or worse, losing your driver’s license. The idea of the law is that insurance will serve as a protection for both you and the other injured party in case of an untimely accident. If one of you does not have any auto insurance, this will leave a financial disaster to the injured party. Every coverage caters to a specific accident There are different types of insurance coverage for vehicles. One of them is the liability and property damage coverage where it protects other people instead of you when you might have caused an accident. This includes the other person’s car or public property damages. To protect yourself, you can consider having collision coverage and comprehensive coverage. Collision coverage covers your vehicle if it gets damaged by hitting something. Comprehensive coverage will handle anything else except collision which includes but not limited to wildlife intrusion, glass damage, fire, vandalism, theft, and natural calamities. Financial protection Vehicular accidents are expensive. It gets even more costly if destruction of public property, medical expenses, both vehicles damage, or towing are involved. That is why auto insurance coverage helps as a financial buffer for that unforeseen accident. Insurance protects you by deducting or waiving the huge fees that is expected in a vehicular accident. You also help other people by being covered in your insurance policy, especially if the accident can be traced back to you. Conclusion 49 out of 50 states deemed it illegal to drive an uninsured vehicle. Auto insurance can be expensive, but risking your financials due to an unforeseen accident will even have more dire consequences. Wow, it's amazing to learn that having insurance for your car can help you pay off for huge fees from an accident. My brother is thinking of getting that luxury car he saw online this year. I'll recommend that he consider talking to an insurance agency for his options.

You made a good point when you shared that it is great to have collision coverage and comprehensive coverage in order to protect you and your vehicle. My sister just mentioned the other day that she is planning to buy a car next month as her old one is no longer working well since she has been using it for over 15 years. I will suggest to her getting auto insurance for it from a reliable provider.

It made sense when you mentioned that most states demand every car to have its own auto insurance policy before being released. My friend is pressing a car glass insurance claim. I think he should seek help from an auto shop that handles windshield replacement.
