If you own a car, you want to be prepared for it to be entangled in accidents, Illegal parking, and mechanical problems, which might result in your vehicle being towed. Towing might be costly and stressful. JD Power estimates that the typical tow costs $109, but if you're driving a distance, the cost may rise to several hundred dollars very rapidly. Coverage of Car Insurance
While standard liability insurance does not cover having your car towed, collision insurance might do the work. Roadside assistance coverage is required if you want coverage in the event of a breakdown. Your auto insurance will typically pay for car towing, provided you have collision insurance. If you have liability insurance, it may only cover the towing of your car. Additionally, it can be restricted to a certain number of miles or a specific amount of money. If the towing job costs more than what is allowed, you will pay for the remaining balance. Advantages of Towing
Conclusion Basic liability coverage does not cover towing costs. If you have collision coverage, you may consider yourself protected for towing in the event of an at-fault accident, and roadside assistance coverage will cover a tow in the event of a roadside mechanical failure. And just like all insurance premiums, adding safety has a charge. At Insurance Agency Network, we aim to provide comprehensive insurance policies that make your life easier. Thanks for helping me understand that the costs of towing services can be covered if our insurance policy has collision coverage. I should keep that in mind so that I know what policy in additional coverage to get when I finally buy my own car in 2024. Right now I am still saving up for it, I'm doing my research as early as now to ensure that I am educated enough regarding the expenses that I would probably have to face once I invest in my own vehicle.
