What Life Has In Store For You After College

​The moment you graduate out of the university, what happens then? Some people would tell you to find a decent job, save money, buy a house, get a car,  and so on and so forth. Based on experience, however, these are three things you need to focus on. 

1. Find What You Love To Do 
   People would tell you to find a high-paying job where you would be required to work in an office. However, unless the position is something you love doing, this is the quick recipe to living a life of get up, work, and sleep. 
   
   If want to see all the beautiful things life has to offer, this isn't the way to do it. What you should do is find the job you’d be glad to do every day. Look for the kind of job that won’t feel like a job while you’re doing it. 
   
   Finding a job that you like is synonymous to finding something you’re good at. When you do find it, every day of your life is going to feel more of an adventure rather than a mere one-hour drive to your workplace.
    
2. Learn As Much As You Can
   Some people think the best thing about graduation is that you can finally stop learning new things. However, life after college is the time in your life when you need to keep as many learnings as you possibly can. 
   
   Most likely, the only difference is that you no longer have to squeeze a ton of subjects into your mind. You have the power to choose what to learn about. 
   
   Going back to the first step, find a job that you won’t get tired of doing. After that, learn as much from it as you can. 
   
   If you have to work for free or for the littlest amount possible, do it. Everything will be worth it. Life after college isn’t the time to make a fortune. It’s time to learn new things. It’s your chance to be knowledgeable on a niche that you love. Once you are successfully doing that, financial success will take its course. 
   
   
3. Travel 
   It’s okay if you’re not earning much in the beginning, as long as you’re learning. But the moment, you start getting paid decently, don’t ruin your youth by investing on superficial things like a sports car, a mansion, or that latest iPhone (unless you need it, of course). 
   
   Instead, invest in discovering new things, new places. Go to countries or cities you have always wanted to visit before. 
   
   As much as you can, try to do it alone. There’s more to traveling than just having fun and discovering new things. Traveling teaches you to step out of your comfort zone. If you’re lucky, you could even reach an inevitable realization. 

Maybe you will realize that it’s okay to take a step back or take risks in your career. You could reach the epiphany that this was, in fact, the life that you always wanted, and that you want to live here for the rest of your life. The point is traveling opens up a whole lot of opportunities. 

Once you’re finished with these three initial steps, there’s just one more thing you need to do. Do 10% more. There is no universal formula to what you can do after college. But here’s a rule of thumb. Whenever you think you’ve done, whether it is for your lifestyle or profession, make sure to do 10% more for next time.
